My First Bath!

Hey guys,

Last night I got my first bath. My cord scab still isn't all the way off, but after 3 weeks mom got tired of waiting! We got my little tub out on the bathroom floor and gave it a go! I love hearing the spa tub's loud water. I just laid on the floor naked and listened until mom stuck me in the water...then I cried! it was warm water, but I was not the biggest fan! After the bath I got all wrapped up in a fuzzy towel and mom put me on her bed to look at the ceiling fan while she dressed me. I just stared at the lights, sucked my fingers, and made my first baby noises! Mom said I'm super cute. Here are some pictures...

I'm still eating like a champ and even have started to get fat rolls on my legs. Mom sometimes gives me a bottle before bed to get me nice and full. Last night I drank 4.5 oz and then passed out for 3 hours in my pack and play! Milk is so yummy!

This week we took our first trip to Wal-Mart and Church! Now I'm ready for food and a nap!

Happy Easter!

Hi Everybody!

This past weekend was Easter. Mom decorated the house and we had a lot of visitors. (you can read all about it on Joey's blog...I slept a lot, so I'm sure I missed a few things). I did get some really cute gifts from the bunny, though. Mom got me a white bunny that's about as big as me. A basket from the DePrisco's house had a black and white picture book, a black and white cloth covered board-thingy that grandma and Amanda made for me to look at, some bibs, and a chirping chick. The Sekels had a bad of goodies and I got a John Deere onesie and another rabbit!! There sure are a lot of stuffed animals at Easter time!

I've still been working on my tummy time. Joey likes to help keep me entertained while I am on the floor. Other than that, I have not been up to much of anything new. I'm staying awake longer during the day, and looking around more at things. I still haven't gotten a real bath so hopefully my belly button heals soon!

Today I went in for my 2 week appointment. At my 4 day I weighed 8 lb 1 oz. Today I was 9 lb 13 1/4 oz!! That's almost 2 lbs already. (I was 22 inches also). Dr. Barb was impressed and said I must eat non-stop...which is true! He doesn't need to see me again until my 2-month.
(when I get my first shots, YIKES!!)

That's all for now!

2 Weeks Old!

Hey Everyone,

I'm 2 weeks old today! It's also "Good Friday" (Just a side note!). We're still inside, mom hasn't taken me out since my doctor's appointment right after I was born. That's ok, I don't want to be sick already! I'm being a very good baby. I hardly ever cry except for if I'm wet or hungry. I sleep a lot during the day, on my own in the crib or bouncer seat. Mom says that we need to start working on getting me into my own bed at night. It's just so cozy nursing and sleeping with her! I've been nursing well and so I get to try a bottle tonight. I guess that a bottle before bed helped get Joey sleeping on his own, so I guess it might help me too. I'll let you know how it goes!

We've started some "tummy-time" and I seem to do ok with it. I'm already turning my head from side to side and can hold it up for several seconds on my own. Mom will get a picture of me in action some time soon! I was looking at a little white sheep with a black t-shirt. He's silly! Mom said that she needs to find more black and white stuff to keep me entertained.I've been awake most of the morning today, which is unusual! I will probably end up sleeping most of the afternoon, but maybe if I try to stay up a bit longer, I'll be so tired and sleep on my own tonight!

My umbilical cord came off at 10 days old, but I still have a scab in my belly button. Mom is waiting on that to come off and then I get a bath in the real tub. I think Joey got his first bath at 2 weeks, so I hope that I get to try one soon too! Maybe it'll be warmer than the wash cloth bath!

Oh, and here is a picture of the hat that cousin Reena made for me! Mom loves it, but I'm not really a fan of hats in general!(I think she also bought the "Got Milk?" hat for Joey when he was little. It's the one that I wore in the hospital and got so many comments on! I haven't met Reena yet, but she's good with hats!

I think that's about all for right now. We have Easter this weekend. The DePrisco side is coming over on Saturday and the Sekels on Sunday. This will be the 3rd weekend with a lot of visitors. Is this how it goes every weekend around here?!

Happy Good Friday!

Hi Guys!

I have very small fingers so it took me a while to type this!
I'm home from the hospital and doing good. I have had a lot of visitors and gotten a few cute gifts. Cousin Reena made me an adorable hat. I'll make sure to get a picture of it up here soon! I'm getting to know my big brother. He is a little crazy...and LOUD! I guess that's just how a big brother is! I've also had my first sponge baths and didn't really like them. I must say that they did make me smell good though. I've mostly been sleeping a lot during the day. I let mom set me down in my bouncy seat, swing, or play yard and I just keep sleeping. Night time is different though. I sort of have day/night confused, but I'll sleep if mom nurses me. Whenever she tries to get me back in bed I wake right up. She's been letting me sleep with her, but she says not to get used to it!
Here are some other cute pictures from my first week home...

Mom and dad took a picture of Joey and Corona when he was first born. I was wearing the same outfit the other day, so they took a picture of me and Corona too. Here's the comparison...

That's about all for now. I'll put more pictures up soon...

Moxon is Doing Good!

Hey everyone...

Here's some more details from yesterday and today...
We got to the hospital at 2:00 for check-in. They took us to our room delivery room, which smelled like pee! When the nurse came in she immediately took us across the hall to a fresh smelling room. There was some poor man that got sent to the other room to figure out where the smell was coming from! Anyway...I got all checked in and it was about 4:00 before they started in induction. I was told that this would be a long road with 12 hours on the Cirvidil and then Pitocin after that until the baby was born. At around 10:00 I got the shot of Nubane to make me "drunk" for a while. The shot was meant to make the "fake" contractions lessen so I could try and get one last good night's sleep. I ended up waking up at some point around midnight or so and called the nurse. The contractions were making me shiver and they were pretty intense. She checked me and I was only 5 cm. I decided to go ahead with the epidural and get back to sleep. The anesthesiologist came in around 1 and got things set up. By the time the epidural got working I was still having pressure pains. I was told that they'd start to go away over the next few minutes. When they didn't the nurse checked me again and I was ready to go!!! They couldn't believe it! Dr. Chung got called in and Moxon was born at 2:06 am. It only took about 10 min. of pushing. I guess I was just made for having babies!

Moxon is doing really good. He's got so much hair and has been sleeping all of the time. He has started to get the hang of nursing, but he's just so tired that he'd rather sleep! He got his circumcision tonight and we're waiting on him to come back into our room.

This morning G&G Deprisco and Chris came to visit with Joey. Of course everyone thought he was cute! Joey kept making a confused face when he looked at him, but he thought the baby was pretty cool. Mostly he just wanted to eat our snacks and play with the stuff in the hospital room. I guess he's been having a good time staying at G&G's house.
Then this afternoon G&G Sekel came for a visit. They brought Moxon and Joey some John Deere shirts. They're pretty cute, but the boys have a bit of growing before they'll fit. I hear that Sarah and Greg, Annie, Amanda, and maybe Toni and Phil and the Meyers will be here tomorrow. Uncle Ed is sick and Aunt Terri is snowed in down at school. Other than that things have been going pretty good. I think we might be sent home tomorrow evening depending on how things go tomorrow, otherwise it will be Sunday morning.

I'll make sure to keep you all updated on all of the cute baby happenings around our house!

A Change of Plans

Well, this morning Dr. Chung felt that I should be induced. She said that the heartbeat was a little bit on the lower end and she wanted to be safe rather than sorry! I took a non-stress test in the office and the baby was looking just fine. Mom was in the waiting room with Joey since Andy was working. We went and ran a few errands and grabbed lunch and Drew met me in Fort Wayne. I am in the hospital right now...They didn't want us here until 2:00. I guess that I will be having the Cervidil for 12 hours at the most, and maybe Pitocin after that...hopefully things won't take toooooo long!

Joey and Corona are at G&G DePrisco's and were not exactly sad to see us leave! It will be nice to have a little rest before the baby gets here, but we'll miss Joey a lot while we're at the hospital. I told him that we'll make sure to pick out a cute baby for him to come and see. I can't wait to see what he does with the new little one. The "little" sisters will be glad too...they have spring break this next week and will be able to be home and visit the new baby too.

That's about it for now, I'll just be sitting here for a while!!

I Think I May Be Nesting!!!

Ha, Ha...
It's always funny to me when people ask if I've been "nesting" as I near the end of the pregnancy. I'm not a bird! However, I've been trying really hard to keep up with all of the cleaning and laundry around here. I don't want to come home from a hospital to a mess after all! Well, today Joey and I were in the basement. I decided to organize all of his toys into their own bins. (all of the Rubbermaid's from moving come in handy!) The basement is spotless! We have bins for each type of block, the stuffed animals, musical instruments, sports stuff, misc. toys, and then a small box for all of the animals and people that go to the different toys. I even organized all of the magnets into a box, the markers and crayons into one, and the play dough into another. Needless to say...the basement is spotless! (for now). I think Joey will like it though, he can actually find toys instead of everything being jumbled into some boxes. I guess part of the problem is my crazy-organized side anyway!
I've also been scheming ideas for decorating and painting around here as soon as I'm able. There's a lot to do...but we won't get into it all right now.
Tonight I also ordered some prints for the baby's room. The room has 10' ceilings with large windows. The walls are painted tan and there is a red accent wall. The bed and changing table are against the red and the red chair from Joey's old room is opposite the wall. In case you haven't seen it, this is the dust ruffle on the bed along with a plain yellow sheet.I already have these wall hangings in the room on a tan wall. I ordered these prints in 6" x 12" to go above the crib...

This print is a 10" x 10" and will probably go above the chair in the corner.I will take pictures of the room once I get these pictures in. My organized/crazy side would want them in the room before the baby comes....but since I just ordered them tonight I'm hoping that the baby gets here before they do!

I have another appointment on Thursday but other than that, not a whole lot has been going on on the baby front. Only 9 days left until the due date! I keep hoping that I'll be early, then I think "Whoa, only 9 days and then there's another baby in the house!" Things are going to change, that's for sure!
