I hate boogers!

Hi Guys,

I'm 7 weeks old now and my week isn't starting out too good. These past few days I've been getting cranky in the evenings and have been waking up mad. Then yesterday I started to get a really stuffy nose and sneezed a couple of big boogers on mom's shoulder. Last night didn't go good and when I woke up my eyes were crusty. Mama called the doctor and the doctor said that either I had a bit of reflux and my tummy was hurting or maybe my ears were infected from all of my stuffiness. So I had to go in to the office. My ears were OK but I might just have a bit of a cold or the regular baby congestion. However, the big crusty booger was still stuck in my nose. He said that mom should put saline drops up my nose to help clear it out. Needless to say, it worked...but I'm still stuffy. Hopefully I get better soon, we could all use some sleep tonight!

Speaking of sleep, I'm in my pack and play more and more. Yesterday I took all of my naps in there too. I'm still sleeping with mom at night since I'm kind of sick and needed to be able to nurse as much as I can stand with my stuffy nose.

Joey has been helping me with my tummy time this week. Here we are on the floor together. I like tummy time, just not for very long.

I have also been smiling with my mouth open. (Video) Mom tickles me and gets a smile out. That's a milestone!!!

Oh, and mom spotted a dimple on my cheek. It's on the top of my cheek right under my eye. She says that it's probably just due to my fatty cheeks! I weighed in at 14 lb 4.5 oz. at the doctor today! I don't know what percentile that is, but I think that I'm very big for my age. I can't even fit into my 3 month clothes any more. We have my 2 mo. well baby check-up in two weeks, I'll let you know more about that then!

Hi guys,

Not a whole lot has been happening lately. I'm still gaining weight. I'm close to 14 pounds now, if I haven't reached it already! I'm cooing and smiling a lot now too. Most mornings I'm all smiles especially when my belly is full and Joey comes to talk to me when he gets up. (I'm open-mouthed smiling, but no one has caught it on camera yet!)We've been going outside a lot. Joey really likes it. I'm still undecided. I usually crab a bit when we're out, but if mom walks me in the stroller I calm down. (I really don't like being in this bubble thing!) We went to the park again today. It was really hot out and after my bottle I slept while Joey played with some friends. I've also started gazing at things in the house. Right now I like the curly black metal on mom and dad's bed, and the decorations on the wall in the living room. I'm getting some tummy time, but I like it best when mom lets me lay on her to practice.

I think that is about all for now. I sill sleep for most of the day, so I don't have a lot of time to do as much cool stuff as Joey! (by the way, here is a picture of me asleep on the floor...Joey never would have done this mom said!)

My First Dinner Out!

Hi Guys,

This past weekend I got to go on my first and second trip to a restaurant! On Friday night we went to the Back 40 Junction in Decatur to celebrate dad's birthday. I slept from the time we left until after we got back home. I guess everyone had a good time, but I missed it!

Then on Saturday we went to the Factory in Fort Wayne for Grandpa Sekel's birthday. Again, I slept through it. I guess that it's relaxing for mom and dad, but geeze! I need to learn how to stay awake a mooch food!

I've been doing pretty good in my pack and play these past few nights. I always go to sleep in there for a couple of hours, but when I wake up for my first feeding I sleep with mom. She falls asleep while I nurse, so I get to stay with her. Soon I'll be sleeping for longer periods and stay in my own bed for more of the night.

On Sunday I found my thumb. I smacked and sucked on it for about 5 minutes. Mom said it was really cute. I guess Joey was not much of a thumb sucker. I still haven't decided if I'm going to take it up as a habit! I'm also getting more and more talkative. I just make cute little coo's now and then. I've also been drinking 5-6 oz from a bottle. I weigh over 12.5 lbs already...I love to eat, what can I say!

I Can Do It!!

Hey Everyone,

This morning mom moved the pack and play from her room to the living room. She said that we're going to work on playing and taking naps in there more often. I took two naps in there so far today! After a couple more days we're going to try sleeping in there at night some too! She really likes sleeping with me, but is ready to have her own bed back=). I'm just really used to nursing and cuddling up, so I'm having a hard time being on my own!


On Monday night we celebrated dad's birthday. Mom made a Key Lime pie and I got to have a little taste. I didn't really like it, but didn't hate it either. Then on Wednesday we went to the park. Joey got to play but I just slept in my stroller with the lids up. It was a little breezy, but in the upper 60's. It's been cold and a little rainy lately, but I hope that we can go outside again soon. I really like the sun and fresh air.



I've also been able to play on the floor and get in some more tummy time lately. It's scary being down there with crazy Joey running around. He likes to play with me, but sometimes he throws things or bumps into me. Mom has been putting me down while Joey eats so that he can't get me=) Here's a video!

We didn't go out to dinner with dad on Monday, so we're going to try again tonight...fingers crossed!

I'm a Pork-Chop!

Hey everyone...

I'm 1 month old today, can you believe it!? Last night mom weighed me and I'm over 12 lbs now. The baby scale is pretty accurate and I'm around 12lb, 4 oz. The digital scale said about the same as well. Joey was 12 lbs when he was around 2.5 months old. When he was the same age as me he was only 8lb 2 oz!!! Mom says that I'm getting so big. I'm already starting to outgrow some of my 0-3 month clothes. I guess we'll be digging out the 3-6 month stuff pretty soon!

Yesterday the Kerestans came over to meet me. They brought lots of cute gifts to go in my nursery as well as big and little brother shirts for me and Joey. Thanks guys!!! Alex was getting big too, but everyone looks big to me!

Since the last post my belly button scab has come off and I've been taking more baths. I actually kind of like them now. My favorite part is still getting into the fluffy towel and laying on mom's bed afterward. Check out my curly hair!!! Dad always tries to straighten it so I don't look like a girl...mom thinks it's cute=)I make all sorts of cute noises. That's another new thing too. I'm starting to make little "happy sighs". I don't do it real often, but am getting better at finding my voice.

Yesterday the weather was nice so we got to go outside for a family walk. I rode in my baby sling and we walked all around the pond and property checking things out.

That's about all for now. Tonight is daddy's birthday dinner so we might try our first dinner out as a bigger family=)
