I'm One!!!

Hey Everyone!
I turned 1 over the weekend and I'm such a big boy now! On Saturday we had my birthday party at our house. All of my aunts and uncles, grandparents, and friends came. There were 8 boys at my party too. Mom decorated in "bee" theme. She made me a beehive cake, my #1 cake, and a mini cake just for me. There were streamers and balloons around and bees on the walls. Mom made wings and antenna hats for all of the kids. Austin kept his on the longest! What a party animal! The older kids did a bee craft and we all took turns trying to break the beehive pinata! The older boys ended up stomping on it after several whacks. Joey even took his circular saw it! I think everyone had fun. I got a bunch of clothes, some books, and a couple small toys. G&G DePrisco even got me a roller coaster! The big boys have been hogging it, but I've gotten a few turns lately. I love that thing! (Uncle Chris took more pictures than mom...she'll put more up later on)

The Meyers stayed the rest of the weekend. I even sat at the picnic table with them a couple of times to eat! At the party I ate 3 pieces of pizza and my yogurt. The next day I pigged down a bunch of food also. Maybe I am growing!

Since I'm 1 now, dad turned my seat around in the van. What fun!!! I can see the movies and talk to mom and dad while they're driving. I think dad is even going to move Joey back to the middle seat so that we can sit together again.

Nothing else exciting has happened since I've been 1. We are going to start a family blog soon, so check back for the new address!

Hi everybody!

Tomorrow is the last day before I turn 1! I think that I'm getting pretty excited! We've had a busy week around here. Mom got the kitchen painted, we got a new counter top, and a hot tub got delivered today. I can't wait to get in. It's still warming up though.

Earlier this week I got a new kind of sippy. It has a straw and I love it. It is so much easier to drink out of than that baby sippy. Mom even said she might get more since Joey and I like them so much. One cup for each of us makes a lot of cup washing!

I also got my birthday present from mom and dad early too. Mom took Joey and I to "It's Playtime" in Fort Wayne last Saturday. They had a tube to crawl through and I had a lot of fun with it. Mom had bought me one for my birthday and couldn't wait to give it to me. She got it out as soon as we got back home. She told dad that this way I could really enjoy it before the "overload" on my real birthday.

I have been having a hard time sleeping at night again. I woke up wide awake at 5 am the other day and didn't want to go back to bed. Mom caught some zzz's on the living room floor while I played toys in the darkness. Then yesterday I got up at 4:30 but somehow fell back to sleep. I didn't nap so much today so maybe I can sleep all night again.

Oh, I almost forgot. My other 2 bottom teeth finally poked through! I have 8 now and am ready to eat some more foods. Speaking of....today in all of the kitchen chaos, I decided that I was hungry. Joey always gets snacks out of the pantry so I figured that I would give it a whirl. All I could reach was the bread, but I like bread. Joey tattled on me and mom caught us with all of the slices on the floor. I had two fist fulls of bread and was munching away! I got to keep what I was holding but the rest got cleaned up.

I have been causing a lot of trouble lately. Joey and I play "cooking" with mom's pans. They all end up on the floor. One day I found the box of cereal that Joey had left out. I decided to help myself! I also found the baggie/wrap drawer. One day I emptied all of the zip-loc boxes, unrolled every plastic baggie and even rolled out the foil and saran. You'd think that mom was neglecting me if I had so much time to accomplish this. Well, really I work fast and had the drawer apart in about 1 minute! Mom knew I was messing in there but since she was turned away she didn't know exactly what I was planning!

One more silly thing. One of the songs that Joey likes to dance to is "We Will Rock You". He always does "stomp, stomp, clap" with mom. Today when the song came on I started stomping my foot too. Mom grabbed the camera and snuck a video!

I think that's about all of the updates for now.

See you at the party!

Two More Weeks Until I Am 1!!!

Hey guys,

I have had a lot going on lately. I am crawling (the right way) now and walking behind my shopping cart and red car. I can do "so big" and throw a ball back and forth with you. I like to go up and down the stairs also. Someone has to help me down because I get too excited while I bounce down on my tushie. I have almost stopped nursing and have been drinking milk out of my sippy really well. I also think it's pretty fun to take bites off of a whole banana instead of having it cut into pieces for me. I am still teething though, 7 & 8 still haven't come all the way through yet!!! I am also sleeping like a big boy now. Mom rocks me and calms me down and then I just cuddle up in bed, usually without crying. I even do good at nap time.

I've had a pretty good week, for the most part. For my first Valentines day I got a basket with a puppy and a book. Then the Meyers came upstairs and we made heart shaped pancakes. I ate a bunch of them in my high chair and then once mom thought I was done, she put me on the floor and I ate more at the table with Brady and Joey. After that we played in the basement and then went on our way to Ney for a party at Aunt Toni and Uncle Phil's house. My cousin, Joel, was visiting from CA. We also celebrated some birthdays and Christmas since we didn't get together with the Swaningers last December. There were a lot of gifts to open and Joey kept "trying" to help me. Mom put bows on my head, I wasn't a fan!

We stayed at home a lot this past week since mom has been pretty busy. We've been working on stuff for my party and she has been doing a lot of work in the office. Since we've been home it also means that I have been getting into a lot of mischief. Mom is learning that she is really going to have to keep a close eye on me. So far I have gotten back into the tub with Joey after I've already been put into my jammies, climbed out of my hippo chair and onto the kitchen table, and I even tumbled down the stairs!!! I was ok though...I didn't even have a bump or bruise! Mom was upset, but I assured her that I was fine by attacking Joey and laughing right after it happened. I'm a crazy boy and I can't even walk yet!

This week we are planning on staying home some more. I hope that I can contain myself!!

Have a good week!

(There are more pictures for this entry, but mom can't find her charger to be able to get them off of her camera. You can check back and maybe we'll be able to get them up tomorrow!)

25 Silly Things About Me!

Hi Everyone,

Joey and I are writing lists of 25 silly things about ourselves.... Here's what I came up with!

1) I am getting my 7th and 8th tooth right now. They hurt!

2) My favorite finger food right now is beans! I like black beans, white beans, baked beans, and pinto beans. No green beans though, please!

3) I play peek-a-boo well. It always makes me crack up!

4) I'm a giggler. Mom and Joey always make me laugh at dinner time!

5) I scoot on my tush and don't really crawl much. If I do crawl I have one knee on the floor and my other foot down to scoot me along.

6) I love water and bath time. I even fell over into the tub the other day PJ's and all! I wanted back in with Joey. Good thing mom was there to scoop me up! Falling in wasn't as fun as I thought it would be!

7) I'm 11 months old now and have suddenly started to go to bed on my own. I am also sleeping thorough the night. I wake up a couple of times, but don't need mom to come in and comfort me!

8) I don't like sand or grass on my feet. When I play on the beach I wear my socks!

9) I get really excited and bounce up and down or kick my feet.

10) I like music and dancing. We have fun music on our computer and the 3 of us dance around the living room about every day

11) I'm very sneaky. I like to investigate things that I'm not supposed to. Joey usually tattles on me though!

12) I like to look in the toilet...mom gets mad!

13) I like movies in the van and can't wait to turn my seat around next month so my neck can stop hurting!

14) I can't wait for birthday cake!!

15) I eat yogurt and veggie combo twice a day usually

16) I gave mom her first baby hug the other day

17) Blueberries make me stick out my tongue, so I feed them to Joey!

18) I follow my brother around and try to do what he does

19) I can say mama, dada, ball, and dog

20) Once I sneezed a noodle out of my nose!

21) I wish I could walk.

22) I think it's funny to slide down the stairs

23) Today I saw geese sitting on our pond ice and it made me very excited.

24) I can't wait to play outside this summer, especially on the beach and in the water

25) I have a great time riding on my bouncy horse

I had a hard time coming up with 25 things! I hope you enjoyed reading random things about me!

Love,
Mox

Surprise!

Guess what...I did a trick!

This afternoon I have been a bit crabby and fussy. Mom took me to the basement while Joey was napping so that I wouldn't wake him up. She set me down with my toys and ran upstairs to throw in a load of laundry. She didn't get the load in before the phone rang. She got the phone and brought it down to make sure I was doing ok. Well, I was ok but I had scooted across the basement and was half way up the stairs!!! Surprise mom! I know how to climb! I think that Joey is going to teach me how to slide back down on my tushie...I can't wait=)

I also wanted to mention the strange way that I eat my food lately. For breakfast and dinner I get 8 oz of food along with my finger foods. I used to have cereal and a fruit or veggie, but now the cereal HAS to be yogurt instead. The only way that I will eat my veggies is if mom "tricks" me by getting half a spoon of the veggies and then covering it in the fruit yogurt! (I know it sounds gross, huh!?). If I see her take a scoop of veggies I hit it away. If she takes yogurt, I open right up. Even though I know her tricky secret, I'm ok with it!

That's about all for now...I'll let you know if I figure out any other cool tricks!

Florida 2009!!

Hi everyone!

By now I am 46 weeks old and getting closer to my first birthday. I am not crawling on the floor yet, but this past week I have been crawling across the bed. (It's too hard to scoot on them). I have become very mobile by combining crawls, scoots, and cruising along the furniture. I pull myself up very easily and can stand on my own with very little support. I should be walking in no time.
I have still been nursing a little bit, but mostly eat my foods and drink from my sippy cups. I have even grown accustomed to the taste of cows milk. Yum!

This past week we went on our first family of 4 vacation to Florida to visit Great Grandpa Leroy! We left on Sunday the 25th at bed time. Joey and I slept in our seats on the way down. Mom and dad made it all the way through Tennessee before we had to stop for gas. We both woke up at the station but fell back asleep until we got almost to Pensacola!

Florida was so much fun. I loved the condo on the beach. The tile floor was great for scooting, and I got my own room at the end of the hall. The pool and hot tub was one story below us, and we got to swim a couple of times. I liked the waterfall the best!

We went to the beach a few times also. I wasn't a fan of the sand. Mom ended up taking a beach towel down for me to sit on and I even wore socks to keep the sand off of my toes! In most of the pictures my hands are in the air because I didn't even like to touch it! I mostly watched Joey play in the sand and water and fell asleep when we took walks.

It was fun hanging out with Grandpa too. He came to our condo a couple of times and we went to dinner with him also. One day he even took us on a golf cart ride and tried to teach Joey to golf. Maybe when I can stand up on my own he'll teach me too!

Here are some more pictures from the trip:

We left on Friday the 30th and slept in the car again. This time when we woke up we were in Dayton to visit the Meyer family. On Saturday Austin and I went shopping with our moms while the big brothers stayed home with the dads. On Sunday we all went to church and then played at their house until the Superbowl. Then on Monday morning we went to Boonschoft to see Ivy the Groundhog come out of her log for Groundhogs day. She poked her head out and said that there would be more winter! We played at the museum for a while and then later that night headed for home.

It's nice to be back. I didn't sleep the best during vacation, so I have been sleeping though the night and taking a lot of naps to catch back up. Vacation was a lot of fun though, and I hope that we can go on another soon.

Now mom and I are working on the plans for my first birthday party. Invites went out to family and close friends yesterday. Joey keeps talking about cake at the party. I've never had some, but I hear that it's good!
Have a fun week!
