Florida 2009!!

Hi everyone!

By now I am 46 weeks old and getting closer to my first birthday. I am not crawling on the floor yet, but this past week I have been crawling across the bed. (It's too hard to scoot on them). I have become very mobile by combining crawls, scoots, and cruising along the furniture. I pull myself up very easily and can stand on my own with very little support. I should be walking in no time.
I have still been nursing a little bit, but mostly eat my foods and drink from my sippy cups. I have even grown accustomed to the taste of cows milk. Yum!

This past week we went on our first family of 4 vacation to Florida to visit Great Grandpa Leroy! We left on Sunday the 25th at bed time. Joey and I slept in our seats on the way down. Mom and dad made it all the way through Tennessee before we had to stop for gas. We both woke up at the station but fell back asleep until we got almost to Pensacola!

Florida was so much fun. I loved the condo on the beach. The tile floor was great for scooting, and I got my own room at the end of the hall. The pool and hot tub was one story below us, and we got to swim a couple of times. I liked the waterfall the best!

We went to the beach a few times also. I wasn't a fan of the sand. Mom ended up taking a beach towel down for me to sit on and I even wore socks to keep the sand off of my toes! In most of the pictures my hands are in the air because I didn't even like to touch it! I mostly watched Joey play in the sand and water and fell asleep when we took walks.

It was fun hanging out with Grandpa too. He came to our condo a couple of times and we went to dinner with him also. One day he even took us on a golf cart ride and tried to teach Joey to golf. Maybe when I can stand up on my own he'll teach me too!

Here are some more pictures from the trip:

We left on Friday the 30th and slept in the car again. This time when we woke up we were in Dayton to visit the Meyer family. On Saturday Austin and I went shopping with our moms while the big brothers stayed home with the dads. On Sunday we all went to church and then played at their house until the Superbowl. Then on Monday morning we went to Boonschoft to see Ivy the Groundhog come out of her log for Groundhogs day. She poked her head out and said that there would be more winter! We played at the museum for a while and then later that night headed for home.

It's nice to be back. I didn't sleep the best during vacation, so I have been sleeping though the night and taking a lot of naps to catch back up. Vacation was a lot of fun though, and I hope that we can go on another soon.

Now mom and I are working on the plans for my first birthday party. Invites went out to family and close friends yesterday. Joey keeps talking about cake at the party. I've never had some, but I hear that it's good!
Have a fun week!
